Today in history: CENSORSHIP!!1!1!!1!!!

If you keep up with the Usual Suspects, you've noticed that Librul Media Censorship is kind of a go-to topic these days -- not always of the "OH NOES they're deleting PLANDEMIC!" variety, but certainly a frequent warning that those pesky media can't be trusted to play fair in the Marketplace of Ideas. Well, see if you can imagine what the lead story was at the New York Daily News on this day in 1941.

It's a tabloid, of course, so you have to go inside to get any of the little words. They're on page 2:
And, yes, if you're wondering, they actually said "censorship."

In general, we're fans around of the old marketplace metaphor, as well as of the Supreme Court's caution that if you bump somebody under the basket on the court of political communication, you should expect to get bumped back. But we also like the quaint idea of reminding assorted bottom-feeders that if they don't like our nes judgment, they can start their own newspaper -- and that, as Walter Burns noted in "His Girl Friday," that you can take Hitler and stick him on the funny pages.
